My language skills are wretched! Today, the Regular Rosary Guy couldnt make it, so it was up to me to choose (read: persuade) people to lead the five Glorious Mysteries. One fellow from Portugal was ready, willing, and able, and I assured him that he could lead the decade in Portuguese and that wed follow him in his language, or in English. I thought I knew the Portuguese responses to the Ave and Pater, but found myself responding in A: Italian, B: Spanish, and finally C: Latin! Sheesh. I felt like we were celebrating Pentecost about 50 days too early! Thank God for Father James Doran, a polyglot. :-)
