My latest health update: Post surgery I developed a large 5x6 cm pocket of fluid in the void where my rectum used to be. This caused excruciating pain for many weeks for me. Gradually the pain has lessoned and is now a painful discomfort. CT scan has shown it has shrunk down to 2.5 cm diameter and getting smaller as my body is absorbing the fluid and heals from the surgery. I see the surgeon tomorrow and anticipate being released to return back to work. Met with the oncologist today and will be returning back onto chemo on Tuesday This will consist of a four hour infusion at the hospital followed by wearing the pump for three days. The blend is Folfox 6 and consists of Eloxatin, 5FU and Calcium Leucovorin. The four hour infusion is the Eloxatin and the Calcium Leucovorin and the pump I will wear for three days will have the 5FU. Treatment will be midweek Tuesday-Wednesday and then the pump removed on Thursday. There will be 8 treatments alternating every other week and should finish up sometime around the new year.
