My maternal, great, great, great grandfather was a North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice. He was born in 1805-1878. He served the court for 20 years. 10 as Chief Justice. His son, Hector, is my great grandfathers dad. I met my great grandfather Fred. It just goes to show that a few generations separate us from slavery. Now I want to know was there a courtship between Hector and my great great grandmother, or did he feel a sense of entitlement because he owned her? Either way, at this point it doesnt matter.
