My mind has been working overtime lately to fill me with worries - TopicsExpress

My mind has been working overtime lately to fill me with worries and self criticisms, as it does when Im in uncertain times, and afraid of what the future will bring! Yesterday, to take my mind off of things, I wandered into town to run a couple of errands and eventually I ended up in Waterstones. After drifting about in the shop I bought a book called Gods little book of hope, which has little phrases of comfort on each page. Last night before I went to sleep, I opened it up on a random page, and this was what I landed on: War of the mind: You can think yourself into happiness or success, despair or hopefulness. It all depends how you manage the volume of one type of thought over the other. The one that dominates the mind tends to be the winner. The good thing is that you decide who will win. The funny thing is, underneath, it said: For further reflection, Isaiah 26:3 and Luke 12:29. The first was a passage my friend Rosalind Frøysadal had posted to my wall just a couple of days ago, the second held the lyrics to one of my favourite Christian anthems, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace. Thanks for the reminder, Universe! And for those of you who read this, I hope you enjoy this rendition of the anthem in question: https://youtube/watch?v=yCZDFmtg5O8
