My mini-theories on the latest episodes > Why did Mr. Hastings want to shut Radley down? - Because Tobys mom might be murdered Uhm, no. He never seemed to be concerned about Toby unless he (Toby) knew something Mr. Hastings didnt want Toby to tell Spencer. - Because Spencer was in Radley If that really was the reason, he would have just dug up some dirt and shut it down already. Besides, Spencer was there by choice. - Because the person who threatened Spencer was in there and there was some trouble with the visitors passes, which resulted in her (Mona) being able to go in and out and hurt his daughter whenever she wanted. For one, he didnt know about this except for the fact that Mona was -A and locked up. And secondly, if he did know or was as concerned about this as shouldve been, why didnt he start this Shut down Radley campaign before? - Because Jason is in Radley I personally think Jason is in rehab for his drinking problem. Thats why Mrs. DiLaurentis was so weird about reaching him, she doesnt want people to think her son is going craycray and it could be why Mr. Hastings wants to close Radley, so Jason wont tell anyone (therapists, doctors, Wren) that Mr. Hastings is his dad - Because Wren works at Radley Seeing as Wren caused his family a lot of trouble; breaking Melissas heart and cheating on her with Spencer, him and his wife having to make sure this wouldnt get out so people wouldnt judge them for it, it would be plausible and more than logical that he wanted Wren to feel it like they felt it. Wren would lose his job if Radley got shut down. Mr. Hastings either wanted him to just feel desperate the way he and his wife did or to hurt Wren as much as he hurt Melissa. > Why did Mr. Hastings turn around like a leaf on a tree? - Because Tobys mom wasnt really killed I refuse to believe the death of Mrs. Cavaugh was an accident - because it being a murder would be so much more interesting - and Mr. Hastings never cared a lot about Toby at all; this can not have been his reason. - Because he wants to investigate Mrs. Cavanaughs death for himself It would be a nice little story to tell if he really was. But as he is only concerned about his family and their reputation, it would not be very likely - Because the Radley employees stick to their story There is no turning the Radley employees around, because of this one special patient, who would inevitably be put at risk. Because they did not give him anything to go on, he does not have any proof against them. - Because he knows or assumes he knows and either likes or fears the other patient He wouldnt want to expose someone he is associated with or genuinely likes or if he is afraid this person will do anything in their power to deny, he is the one that looks bad. - Because Jason is in Radley Jason could be in Radley to be treated for his drinking problem. Mr. Hastings, not wanting other people to find out Jason is his son and him therefore getting a bad reputation, would not want that to happen. This would also explain why Mrs. DiLaurentis was at the Hastings talking about Jason. And the reason why Jason wouldnt know the DiLaurentises were getting a divorce, since there arent a lot of people able to reach him and his mom wouldnt want Jason to start drinking again because of the news. This is also a good explanation as to why Spencer is forbidden to contact Mrs. DiLaurentis: he doesnt want her to find out. Because she would go visit him, which would be bad for Mr. Hastings reputation, and maybe even spill the beans about the DiLaurentis divorce, which might cause Jason to drink more or start again. And ofcourse the obvious reason that he doesnt want anyone to find out his family has ties to the DiLaurentis family. > Who could be the other patient? They (the Radley employees) didnt tell who the other patient is to protect the other patient from getting bad press and being accused of murder. Because they are trying so hard to keep this persons identity a secret, it must be someone weve already met. – Ezra Ive seen a lot of people mention Ezra as the patient, but since Ezra was in Hollis College when this happened and since he couldnt have been in Radley Sanitarium at the same time, he cant be the other patient up on the roof with Mrs. Cavanaugh – Wren or his dad Wren talked to Spencer about this disorder that his dad had and it could be running in the family, passing it on to Wren himself, since that would be more accurate for the show because we dont know his dad. This couldve also been one of the reasons why Eddie hates Wren. – Byrons brother or Mike Then again, Byrons brother was said to suffer from a disorder as well. But since weve never met him, its not very likely hell turn out to be signifant to the story. Byron mentioned the disorder his brother had, because he thought Mike was going through the exact same thing, which could point to Mike being the other patient. After all, aside from Hanna hooking up with him, we dont know anything about how or who Mike was before Alis disappearance. – Mrs. DiLaurentis Mrs. DiLaurentis and Mrs. Cavanaugh kinda look alike, which is why they couldve been twins or sisters suffering from the same mental illness and therefore both be in Radley. Since Mr. Hastings is associated with her, he wouldnt want this story to come out.
