My mom has not been able to walk for the past two years now. She is diabetic and has been told by a few doctors that her inability to walk is due to diabetic neuropathy. Finally, there is a doctor who believes she has something else going on and that theres no way diabetic neuropathy can cause her to not walk. I am really hoping that someone can give us an answer.....soon! Some doctors she has seen are so puzzled. Theyve never seen this. You see, my moms legs are useless but she still has feeling in them. Just when you think things cant get any worse, they do....now what has happened to her legs is now affecting her arms. Little by little my mom is losing her arms. It really hit me today when I had to actually feed my mom her dinner. Just a little miracle is all Im asking for......I know they say even miracles take some time....I think weve waited long enough. It breaks my heart to see my mom the way she is. The feeling of helplessness is the worst feeling ever! I am really hoping well get referred to specialists outside of Corpus......the doctor did mention after doing some blood tests, and hopefully MRIs and CT scans, he may refer her elsewhere. My family and I just know she hasnt seen the right doctors. I have hope! I have faith! Never take walking for granted....or the simple task of picking up your cell phone. Im hoping my mom can one day do these things...... Love you, mom!!
