My mom was too funny. When I was younger, I raced motocross (as did my brother). But mom was freaky about it in that she was always complaining that she had a boy and a girl, not two boys. So, to combat the masculinization of her little girl, she dressed me in hot pink leathers for my races. And weaved a gazillion bright and pastel pink ribbons in my hair to make me more girly. She also had a weird way of viewing boys that I liked. It was okay for me to date a boy with long hair but she was suspicious of boys with short hair. She had concluded that boys with long hair were okay because that meant they hadnt been to court lately. In her mind, boys with short hair had likely been in front of a judge recently and werent dating material.
