My moms surgeon Dr. Dickson, stopped in today, of course I had gone to the store, but I had a note for him to call me. So, he said the infection is also in her pelvic area, as well as around the hip implant and down the thigh. They will operate tomorrow late afternoon. She is trying to be so strong, and not trying to just freak totally out, me too, I guess. They will be implanting what is called a hip spacer. This device will distribute antibiotics to her pelvic area, hip and stem area. It will be there until they deem necessary. this could be as long as 8 weeks, then they will treat orally for another six weeks in Beaumont, but still very aggressive. This could be as long as a 6 month duration with treatment and replacement surgery. Know I am more fired up to have a very large and successful benefit for her. So prayer worriers and benefit warriors get busy. planning on reserving a venue this week, for late January early February
