My morning started at 5 A.m. saturday morning. I left the house being as quiet as I could as to not wake the wife and kids. I locked the door behind me......needless to say my house and truck keys were sitting on the table!! So after climbing in the window, the dog barking and waking everyone up I got to the woods at 5:30. In my spot at 5:45 jumped a spike getting to stand. At 7 another hunter walks up on me. At 7:30 I pass on a 100 lb doe. At 9:30 I see movement in same area. All I could see was a big bodie, not sure if it was a buck or doe I placed a shot on its heart area. I didnt sit long before I climbed down to have a look. The deer was about 40 yards from me when I shot, through alot of thick brush. I found the spot because I blew a hole in a 5 tree. Five foot behind it I found hair,but no blood.....I decided to got get my hunting partner, my wife. We got backto the woods at 1 (jumping a 200+lb 10 point buck. The one weve been tracking all year) Anyway, my wife got on the blood trail like a hound! Followed it 30 yards.....about 20 yards from that there it was!! A big bodied doe. The bullet split in two when it hit the tree. It took out her heart and both lungs. She weighed 137 lbs It was amazing! Even after the 350 yarddrag up hill and thru the swamp. It was a perfect day in my book. Ive been hunting for four years and I have harvested two doe in that time. It was great to have such an amazing hunting partner. Nicole Aceto you are the best!!
