My name is Jeremy Rugen. I moved to the area with my father, Jerry Rugen, mother, Connie Rugen, and sister, Valerie in 1996. We moved here when my mother took a job as a nurse. I graduated from Camdenton High School in 2006. While I was in high school my family and I moved to Montreal, Missouri. My father currently works for the Sheriff’s Office in court security and my mother is still working as a nurse. My sister has recently been married and moved to West Virginia with her husband and also works as a nurse. During the summer of 2010 I met my wife, Jamee Rugen. In November of 2011 we were married. Jamee works as a patrol deputy for the Sheriff’s Office. On August 7, 2013 we became the proud parents a baby girl named Quinn. My father and I started volunteering together at Mid-County Fire in the spring of 2004. I began my volunteer career at Mid-County as a junior firefighter at the age of 15 and began my fire training. At the age of 18 I became a senior volunteer firefighter and continued with training. During my time as a junior volunteer and senior volunteer firefighter I was trained in Medical First Responder, Firefighter 1 &2, Haz-Mat awareness and operations, as well as other various training courses. I am also a state certified Fire Inspector, Investigator, Instructor 1, and hold a state certification in Officer 1. I continued to volunteer until October 2013. I decided to resign as a volunteer due to not having enough time to stay a member in good standing and to also spend more time with my wife and daughter. I was hired at Gravois Fire Protection District at the age of 19. I worked as a full time firefighter for three years. Unfortunately, most firefighters cannot just work one job and I was working part time for a local ambulance. I left Gravois Fire to finish my paramedic certification and began working full time in Camden County with the ambulance. I have been employed with ambulance for almost five years. The last two years at Mid-County Fire I served on the Mid-County Fire Benevolence Association Board and the last year I served as president of the association. The board and I were successful at doubling the account balance, selling unnecessary equipment owned by the association, and filing the paper work for the 501C3. We are currently waiting for government approval. I am a Candidate for Mid-County Fire board. I want to see the district that I have volunteered at for over 9 years head in a positive direction. My plan is simple; I would like to see budget accountability for the district and keeping the tax payers insurance rates low. Thank you for your support. I would appreciate your vote.
