My name is Yuyang Meng from AIESEC Madison, one of the most diverse student run organizations on campus that is looking forward to build long-term relations with different organizations that represent other countries and cultures around the world. The reason that Im sending this email to all of you is because up until the beginning of next semester, well be hosting an event called the Global Village. The general idea of this event is to try to bring and attract as many students around campus to get to know about different cultures and their related organizations in UWMadison. I think most of you have heard about us and worked with us during the WISA cultural festival in the late April, and the Global Village is just another exciting event that has similar idea compare to the WISA one; however, this time we would like it to be an outdoor event that will be scheduled in the court between the Memorial Library and the University Book Store. Well also invite some performance groups representing their own cultures to give a shock to students at that day. We would hope this event could take place no more than three weeks later than the first day of school. Additionally, you can all bring your booths, which will provide you good opportunity to do promotions for students. But above are just some first hand ideas, and of course we definitely need to talk about this in further details. So please respond me personally to my email address listed below (I prefer my gmail. Thanks!) and we can figure out What exactly do each of you want to do at the day? Right now, my personal idea is to let all of you set up your booths outside so we could make a circle. And we will definitely setup the stages (if that is necessary) or just clean up an area for the performance. Anyway, please think about some ideas, send me emails about what you want to do, and once again I know this is in the middle of summer time so Im sorry to send you this a little annoying message since we all want to catch that golden time when the semester JUST start and attract most of the students.
