My nearly 3yo boy has just got glasses. Hes meant to wear them - TopicsExpress

My nearly 3yo boy has just got glasses. Hes meant to wear them full time... Hes long sighted so can see fine if he doesnt wear them, but his eyes get really tired and he squints, so its been decided now is the appropriate time for him to start wearing them. Its not the end of the world if he isnt wearing them full time right now, but does need to be as soon as its realistic. Im after tips on getting him used to it. They seem to get uncomfortable or something after 5-10 minutes of watching TV or having stories and if hes playing hell only wear them for a couple of minutes. Were not into bribery or rewards systems so please no such suggestions 󾌵 I want to know if others have had success at a similar age without resorting to bribes. Hes the type of child who will cheerfully ignore requests if they dont seem worthwhile to him (partly his age, I know, but his brother cares much more about pleasing us lol) so I dont think praise will do much either. Basically I need to find a way to convince him that wearing them is more in his interests than not wearing them. We are getting some super cheap plain glass frames for his brother (partly cos big bro feels left out and partly cos little bro will do anything big bro does) but itll be a few weeks before they arrive, and thatll hardly give us a permanent solution anyway! TIA and sorry for the essay 󾌵
