My newly written article about the penal law, Ramadan, and the freedom of creed. Its hard to cut an excerpt, but here is one, anyway: To wrap up, it is possible that through dialogue we might find that we have a common enemy, and that this enemy resides in the place from which these morals stem to social reality, and, perhaps, we might even put our fingers on the wound that is hurting us all, which I think is ignorance; the ignorance that is the core of the article 222 of the penal law; the ignorance that pushes some people to attack the members of the Alternative Movement for the Liberty of the Individuals (MALI) when demonstrating for the right to eat on public; and the ignorance that causes one to loathe the other who is not fasting to the extent of calling him/her a Kafir and legitimising her/his crucifixion.
