My niqab, hijab, abaya, is not about YOU. I don’t wear them because I fear YOU PERSONALLY will lust after me. I don’t wear them to make YOU PERSONALLY angry with me. I don’t wear them to make YOU PERSONALLY feel alienated by me. I don’t wear them to make YOU PERSONALLY feel satisfied with me. I don’t wear them to make YOU PERSONALLY feel guilty about how you choose to dress. I don’t wear them to make YOU PERSONALLY feel morally superior/inferior. I wear them in an attempt to submit to my Creator, Allah. The assumptions you make about me based on how I dress, regardless if they are positive or negative, only exist in your mind. They are not representative of reality.
