My number is 13. Now I am to tell you 13 things you may not know about me. 1) A FEW FAVORITES: PLACES: My bestest place to go or be is the beach. Id move to a place (large or small) with a beach, but that isnt on Gods agenda for us right now. :) So I go and visit the beach as much as I can, when WE can. I love walks on the beach with the cool water lapping over my feet, any time; listening to the waves coming in and going out, with the ocean breeze in my face, love the smell of the ocean breeze; looking for seashells. I also like walks in the mtns. I like looking for rocks. I like picture taking. I enjoy making jewelry. I love going to church and listening to ones worship the Lord, it is a prelude to what it will be like soon. COLORS: royal blue and red...a bright crisp red. FOODS: a good pot of homemade soup (almost any kind, but NO Split Pea please! :p ) and fresh bread, any time of the year. DESSERTS: coconut cream pie, chocolate delight, pecan pie and italian cream wedding cake. BOOKS: The Bible-to read and hear the Word of God :) , honest, not because it maybe expected, but really; Captian, my Captian; Hinds Feet on High Places; Footprints of a Pilgram; Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and be Happy. 2) I DO NOT LIKE to wear shoes, Id rather go barefoot; movies with supense, I leave the room when the music begins to emphasize something is about to happen; gossip, is my talk out of concern, or just flapping my lip in the wind, talk, a little or a lot, what a fine line it is, should I or shouldnt I; nor do I like okra, its slimmy and yucky even fried :p . 3) I lost my four front top teeth at the age of 3. Most kids start loosing them at the age of 5 or 6 and they start loosing them on the bottom first. Not me I bit my sisters toes and I lost them....I also had several very high fevers that abscessed my teeth, they were capped, but when I bit her toe, there wasnt anything to do but surgically finish removing them. My first grade pic is a very toothless smile...no teeth on the top or bottom. Toothless by age 6. :D 4) I am afraid of snakes and not being able to see beyond the dark of night....like outside the perimeter of where the light is. 5) I had my own horse before I was 3, it got struck by lightening and died, but Granadpa got me another one. By the time I was in first grade grandpa made me learn how to saddle and briddle him if I wanted to ride. I was taught to lead him to a stumble, drag my saddle over to it, and by much trial and coaxing, I got the saddle on that beast and learned the same way to briddle him. When we got home it was the same thing but in reverse. Unsaddle, unbriddle and comb him down before he was was put to pasture. 6) My grandpa and I use to help a neighbor rancher most weekends round up cattle on horse back. If we were not helping Mr. Kenney, we would go for day long rides on Saturdays and pack us a lunch and ride through the mtn ranges around Rancho Grande, outside Reserve NM. 7) I was driving solo by 2nd gade in my grandpa El Camino out on our dirt roads. My first road trip, with grandpa, was in 5th grade. I drove from Apache Ceek, NM to Datil NM. Im not sure my mom knows this one. Grandpa went to the passanger side said to scoot over and drive. I remember being petrified. He said youve been driving for a long time now its time to see how you do on the road. I scoot over and scoot the seat up. Put it in gear and go he told me. I did. He slouched down in the seat covered his face with his stetson and ddidnt look up, as far as I know. He said just hold it down the middle and this is what you look at and how and..... When he heard gravel, hed say move back over. I remember getting ready to pass a dump truck coming my way and told him what was coming, just drive, he said, but grandpa there is a bridge (it was narrow)....so just stay on your side. I passed him just fine. At least I didnt run off the road or hit the truck. Grandpa never looked up....I think. :) 8) When I was in 1st grade I got frost bite on my feet. Snow got down in my boots and I could not take them off at school because I didnt have any other shoes to put on. I could hardly walk by the time got home. Mom took me to the dr and some of my toes were blue and purple. He said if I had gone much longer I might have lose a few toes. To this day if I get cold its my feet and on my right foot it is my two smaller toes that hurt like the dickens. I was out of school for two weeks. 9) I was a cheerleader for 3 years, played volleyball and basketball for 2 years and ran track for 1 year. 10) We had to learn to shoot every gun or bow my dad owned. Shotgun, rifle, handgun, bow...we had to learn about that piece. I went dove hunting with my brother Rusty, once. We were taking turns shooting. We were both getting our shots and coming home with a good sack of dove. But then, I got two birds in one shot. He took the gun away from me and said were going home. Hes 4-1/2 years younger than I am. Last time we went hunting together. Go figure. Hed surely out shoot me now. :) 11) I love to go camping-by my self! Really! I would do this more than once a year, but.....well... 12) I have been coloring my gray hair for 18 years+. 13) My parents met on Sept 10, I was born on Sept 13 and they were married on Sept 23. :) WAIT, they met Sept 10, 1960 and married Sept 23, 1960, yes, they knew each other for ONLY 13 days. (They were married for 52-1/2 years.) I was born Sept 13, 1961. So 13 is not an unluck number. :) LIKE or comment and I will give you a number and you can share that number of things we might know about you.
