My nutritional therapist has encouraged me to juice 1-2 times daily on my revised protocol. I am experimenting with flavor combinations, which is kind of an adventure. Im trying new produce, and learning new flavors. Keeping my food rotation schedule and blood sugar issues in mind makes it a little tricky. Yesterday my swiss chard and turmeric combination was a complete bust until I added a quarter of an apple, which only made it drinkable. I was scared to add more apple because my sugar crashes can be intense. I am much happier with todays juice: 1 small head of cabbage, 2 carrots, and a half inch of ginger root. Its sweet and spicy, and now Im thinking Ill use the same produce to make an Asian slaw. To help with the blood sugar situation, I am taking it with two teaspoons of olive oil stirred in and sipping slowly per my NTs recommendation. This one is a keeper! Tomorrow, Im going to bear up my courage and attempt a fennel juice.
