My other volunteer job is providing the wheels (rides) for our friend Ray Glover to and from choir and other church activities. Besides being able to pick his brain about all things musical and church related (he was the general editor of the 1982 Episcopal Hymnal), we have found him to be a wonderfully gracious and extremely talented person. At age 86, he painted us this picture and then had it framed for us. He also arranges flowers at his retirement home at Goodwin House, teaches classes at the Virginia Seminary, attended 5 or 6 conferences last year where he was one of the speakers, accompanies the residents on the piano and organ, plays solos and reads the Bible at church, resurrects orchids that others have trashed and has fun arguing with Max! Weve become really good friends.
