My picture of success has changed significantly since my early years in college and Ive done a little tweaking to it recently too. I used to think success looked a lot like a high powered attorney who has to rub her own feet after getting home at 10 p.m. from the office where shes so busy she barely has time to eat, but she surely takes a quick break to light up a heater. She has little time for much of anything besides climbing the corporate ladder. Now.... Success is having the option to get up late because you control your own schedule. Having time to enjoy friends and family, or just get lost in a book or go for a run in the fresh air. It means taking time to enjoy your health and having the time to stop and give every person you know a hug. It has nothing to do with money or awards. It has everything to do with time, grace, love, comfort and forgiveness. Success is what you make it.
