My polite letter to turn down a funding opportunity for coal mining. Xxx, I have given your project some thought. I think for the moment I will give your project a pass. The major reason is because the project is inconsistent with my value system, for coal mining generates carbon into the atmosphere eventually. The more money I raise, the more carbon emission there will be. In any case, I have done quite some research. I understand that coal is required by third world countries to modernise and opting for a more efficient means is not available to them. That means, there are still some positive values from coal mining. However, I would not like to be involved in the funding. That said, I acknowledge that there are still value in coal mining, and I wish you all the best in your search for funding partners. Please also do email me when you have other projects.
