My politics is How to keep Nigeria one for the generation yet - TopicsExpress

My politics is How to keep Nigeria one for the generation yet unborn. So, if we have to do away with politicians and lectures who feel without them Nigeria will not survive; let us do away with them. We can not continue to compromise, to carry them along: to insist on quota system: to sweep most of our dirty habits under the carpet under the guise of been fair to all. People should not just change. At least we must know why a change is required. Is the change for the common good or is it for a few chosen ones. The middle class has completely been wiped out by this call for drastic change by the new political class. All the business which the middle class thrived on has been taken over by those who meet each day in Abuja holding meetings to decide how to share our money. They even complain when there are attempts to contain reckless spending. Please do not hesitate to show them the way out. There are many people around ready to teach our students if ASUU is not ready to go back to classes. During my days as a student my lecturers who were mostly foreigners never abandoned classes for so long. I do not know if there is any country in the world where the Universities are closed down for so long. This to me looks like blackmail by some of the greatest con artists in the world. Parents are now being forced to send their children to private Universities some of which may have been co-founded as a soft landing for lecturers when they retire. Let us try the General Gowon’s medicine. Send all the lecturers packing. After all the Universities have not been in session for some time. Let those who can work on the salary and allowances that the Federal Government can afford re-apply. This is business. Government can not continue to be run at a loss. Let them go to the private Universities in Nigeria and abroad and see if some of them are employable. Let the doors be open to foreign lecturers from English speaking countries and we will see if standard of education will not improve. I hear them complaining about the money the legislators earn. Let them resign and contest an election so as to realize the investment some of these legislators go into to secure their seats. You will be surprised to know what debt they have to pay back after election. That is why it is sometimes difficult for a politician who has gone in neck deep into politics to withdraw.
