My prayer tonight for my daughter...watery eyes: Lord help me to be a good godly parent to Jaden. Help me to be aware , attentive an concerned about her needs. Not just when her shoes have gotten too small or her dress or pants have gotten too short. But help me to discern what she needs to become whole. For surely you use vessels for the perfecting process. Prick my heart when I am being selfish...Too wrapped up in my own stuff, to see when just my attention; consistent, and undivided is what she really needs. Help me to pick my battles in my attempts to steer her in the right direction, allowing her room to grow, always remind me when to say no, even if its not popular, remembering that maybe a mere 20% have taken on the mind of Christ for which to be persuade by. Help me to provide security and love for her while leading her to you, for I do know that the world can not offer her that. Help me to stay balanced in my own life so that I am available and aware. Youve given me such a great task and such a short amount of time to watch and help her to grow, for I am still growing myself. Let not any parenting Ive done in ignorance affect her negatively..be a fence. In Jesus name...Amen
