My rant after reading a post about a Stafford terrier looking for a home. Several times they made clear she was an indoor dog.... and so my rant begins. Dogs are as much a part of nature as the birds, wild critters and the like. A normal dog enjoys the sun on their face and rolling in the grass. The lack of exercise is the main cause of behaviour problems in dogs. We should not treat them like fine China and put them on a shelf to collect dust! The dog in question is only 18 months old. She should be outside! She should be soaking in all the mental stimulation she can ... Oops did I forget to mention the dog should be outside with the owner??? The b boys spend lots of time outdoors... with Savannah and her friends or playing basketball with Ryan, helping daddy grill, me garden ... etc etc... My dogs would be crushed if they were inside all day. They love chasing a ball, rough housing or going for a walk. No dog should be an indoor dog. All dogs should be FAMILY dogs...where the family goes, the dog goes. The potty pads for dogs give me the creeps. Take your dog outside to use the bathroom. Let them run around and play...Chase a ball.... your relationship with your dog will be better and your dog will be bettered behaved. Dogs want to be outside ... just not alone... at the same time a dog doesnt want to be alone inside everyday either.
