My rant for today, 3 minute smile: I am entering my grandson in the 3 minute smile on KTBS. My daughter says he will not be picked because both of his parents have jobs. I am entering him because I would like him to have a good memory of what might be my last Christmas. Also, this is not about the gifts. If he is chosen, he will be told in advance that he can keep a few gifts and the rest will be taken to the school for less fortunate children. He can get a lesson on making a difference. NO child should get $1,000 of toys for Christmas. Furthermore, when my kids were little, they got 1 or 2 gifts at Christmas. My daughter still grumbles about getting 1 gift . When I watch the 3 minute smile on TV, I always wonder what happens to all the toys each child gets. Years ago, when I lived in Alexandria, I knew a Mexican family who always asked for hand outs. At Christmas, the so-called father would ask people to buy gifts for his kids. (He was great at playing poor mouth) He would sell the gifts for beer and cigarettes leaving the kids with nothing for Christmas. I am sure he is not the only one who plays that game. Cathie
