My school is hiring a 2nd grade dual language teacher (español) and a 5th grade dual language teacher (español). If any of you fluent bilingual teachers in California are ready to make a positive change in your career, come on up! Evergreen has a FT nurse, FT counselor (credentialed), librarian (credentialed), PE teacher (credentialed), music teacher (credentialed), art teacher (credentialed) paraprofessionals to watch over lunches and recesses (which means no yard duty for you!), a 40 minute prep period daily, a bilingual principal, field trips, a staff that is mostly bilingual, and lots of awesome activities throughout the year! Our campus focuses on GLAD, RTI, backwards planning (Understanding by Design), FOSS, and year-long unit planning. Many of our teachers are National Board certified and there are lots of professional training opportunities. Our student population is mostly a mix of Caucasian, Guatemalen and Mexican so language acquisition is a major focus. Aside from all the awesomeness Ive just listed, youll be surrounded by evergreen trees, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, volcanoes, lakes, clean air and blue skies (summer). Yes, it is quite drizzly and cloudy from October to April and you will lose your California tan within your first year but the environment is awesome for outdoors fanatics: hiking, mt biking, skiing, paddling, running, climbing, etc.
