My second RANT in one week, A client who was referred to me needs to short sale their home in Palm Desert. For the last 18 months a lawyer and a third party have been billing over $30,000 for a loan modifaction. The owner has come to realize this has all been a big scam. Here is where I need your help F/B Tribe... I thought it was illegal for people (i know most people do not think lawyers are people), to take money in advance to do a loan mod or short sale. if this is the correct, what is the criminial code number or the reference for this. I would like to see these two hung from the yardarm for taking $30,000 for nothing. any help!!!!
