My sister kept the kids this week while I worked in Dallas. I left them on Sunday night and came back this afternoon. They are bigger, saying new words, walking more and clinging to my sister. For me, its a blessing to have a sister that mothers my children. (They call her Umi) but I thought about all the absentee parents. The parents who see their children one weekend a month or once a year or less. 5 days. Just 5 days I was gone. And very evident changes occurred. If you are not an every day parent, the least you could do be in contact with your children daily. Skype. Call. Leave messages. A blink of an eye...thats all it takes...and you missed everything. And your child missed you.
