My sister posted this on the 9th so Im sharing it here. I am so grateful Marcia was there to hear the doctors when my room was filled with a nearly constant parade of animals and other visitors who were brought to me by my anesthesia-inspired hallucinations. Not a very Turns out I got the wrong impression. Susies aortic valve was calcified almost completely shut! Her poor little heart was trying and trying to pump blood to her body but only a trickle was getting through. This is what caused the damage to the heart muscle. The new valve is working well and she is pinker than I have seen her complexion in years! Dr. Watson (god bless him) said she wouldnt have lasted the month without this surgery. Tissue valves last for 10 to 15 years, so it is likely she will need another before shes 90, but by then I fully expect they will be 3D printed and enveloped in stem cells and ready to grow when installed through a catheter! Come on, medical science, get on that STAT!
