My son an overnight prayer meeting is praying the all night.You may have some other activities but 90 percent of your activities should be prayer. Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days,that he went out into a mountain to pray,and continued all night in prayer to God. We see that even our Lord Jesus Christs overnight prayer meeting was characterized with prayer. I am concerned my boy with todays overnight prayer meetings.I went to one were they had five preachers and six gospel artists on the program.My boy you cant call this an overnight prayer meeting but an all night conference.My boy just because something is done in the night does not mean it is a prayer meeting .I would like to encourage you to know the difference between an all night prayer meeting and any other all night meeting .An all night prayer meeting is characterized with prayer.Having five preachers,six gospel artist in one night that is not an all night prayer meeting but a conference in the night.I am not against having five or ten preachers in one meeting but please accord a meeting its proper name.Having a lot of unnecessary activities at an all night prayer meeting is a sign of laziness.You dont want to pray or you cant pray so you replace time of prayer with other activities.For example testimonies.While it good for people to testify so that God is glorified and other peoples faith is helped we cant take two hours just for testimonies .The question is what time are we going to pray .Did you know my boy that many would rather be in the pulpit preaching than on their knees praying.Having six preachers at an all night prayer meeting is a sign that we dont want to spend time in prayer but playing .My son there is a difference between a prayer meeting and a player meeting. At another all night prayer meeting they asked this guy who was a former satanist to testify and for all most seven hours the guy was just talking.Think about it my boy ...seven hours someone is just talking then what time are you going to pray.Therefore this meeting shouldnt be called an all night prayer meeting but A night of former satanistsBy the way my boy what is so special about someone who was a satanist that he should be given such attention?And these people have not even been well taught how to give a testimony.The guy will be lifting and glorifying the devil throughout his testimony and just for one minute he would say and then The Lord saved meA good testimony consists of 1percent who I was and 99 percent of what The Lord has done for me. My son two preachers per night better and you dont need guest gospel artists at an all night prayer meeting.Dont you have a worship team?Dont turn an all night prayer meeting into a concert.Every thing has its own time.There is time to pray and time to dance.Having six gospel artists at an all night meeting is inviting a spirit of competition.I dont understand what is going on with the church today.The fact hat we are not serious with our prayers we have allowed a wrong spirit to invade our so called all night prayer meetings.some people go for all night prayer meetings not to pray but for entertainment. My son there is a difference between a prayer meeting and a player meeting.And all night prayer meetings are not for entertainment but prayer.
