My son is 3,5 yo, he never had a sound nap schedule during the day (I baby wore him for a long time and he slept when he got tired, on me, in the car, or fall asleep during storytime) and it has worked for us for a long time but since he started to go to family day care a few days a week, he gets so tired and is so hard to handle. I try to have a nap time or at least quiet time every afternoon but he just refuses - even while saying he is really tired and sleepy almost every day. And when he is overtired all he does is do things he is not supposed to. I know he is not doing it to spite me but it is so hard to stay patient, especially when he doesnt get what he wants, he starts hitting me, kicking me. I know he wants to get attention but I cannot give it to him all of the time. I really try to play with him a lot, read, sing, etc. and spend as much time with him as possible but I feel like it is not working..I feel like he needs something I am not able to give him, I would really like to find my way back to him, to be a good mom.. What makes the whole situation so much harder is my partner has so little patience for him, he believes that our son needs firm boundaries, he raises his voice and threatens our son because he feels like nothing else is working..he is really not that bad but even this much feels so wrong.. I would really appreciate your thoughts, advice, anything..I really appreciate it. TIA!
