My son is amazing, not because of the things he can do, but because of how he makes me feel. He makes me laugh and cry with ease. On days that I am sick, I forget that I am sick. On days that I am busy, I slow down. On days when I am tired, I still have energy for him. Thank you for teaching me about life. I have not forgotten how long I waited for you. I have not forgotten how many negative pregnancy tests I have had. I have not forgotten how many times I had conceived only to lose. It is no wonder I change your diapers happily and listen to your cries attentively. It is no wonder my evenings are joyful when I read stories with you willingly and especially. I get to see your eyes and I know that they are real. You are real. Everything, about, you, is real. Happy first birthday, Theodore Pheejmuaj, you are amazing.
