My son just had major surgery a month ago . Spinal fusion in his neck ,where they took bone from his leg and hip and put in 4 places in his cervical spinal vertebra (From top of chest to under windpipe )that was being eaten away by a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis and within a year , it would of collapsed , crushing his windpipe or paralyzingly him from The neck down . It is called. Coempectomy except his was a multiply coempectomys . Then they put rods and pins and plates in . Then put the halo on him . He has to wear it until end of December . Could be longer if the bones havent fused to the existing area . Which could be a complication of the neurofibromatosis that he has also that runs in the family . It could slow down the healing process . He is very limited to what he can do because the halo keeps him from turning his head any direction .so I have to do almost all his personal care and take care of pin sites and other things . Are far as entertainment for him , he plays his Nintendo DS 2 and a Nintendo DS and some games that was donated to him when he was still in hospital .with this he can hold it face level with out any bending of his neck and head which would cause serious problems if he does . Plus he loves Legos . We put everything on the bed side table at the level he can see with out any head bending . The most he can bend is limited waist bending . With all this .known , he wanted to know if anyone has any extra Legos or Nintendo DS or DS 2 games like Zelda or Pokemon . If u have others let me know what u have as some he feels he is to old for now . Lol he is 15 but autistic /ADHD with learning disabilities from The neurofibromatosis .
