My son was killed by a so called Sniper while serving his country - TopicsExpress

My son was killed by a so called Sniper while serving his country during our nations response to the 9/11 attacks. This military action has a name, it is called the Global War on Terror. Do remember that the Global War on Terror is still going on. To be a sniper, may mean that we have a trained shooter that uses an optimized rifle with specialized optics and match grade ammunition. The actual shots taken by these Military Snipers may be indeed long range -- well beyond the range that conventional forces may employ the standard issue battle rifles and respective munitions -- beyond 300 meters. The US Military Sniper may very well be employed to do Counter-Sniper operations. These kinds of operations may take out, or less euphemistically, kill our adversary snipers -- the kind that may have killed my son or Michael Moores father. I think that it is difficult to refer to ANY of our all volunteer service men and women as cowards. Hey, remember that they are part of that 1% that goes fight while the other 99% of us, does not. So many of those service members are democrats and liberal thinking and may even disagree with the stated reasons that our nation has opted to use military force/action as an extension of our governments policies. Yet, they go do what they swore to do, as aircraft mechanics, radar operators, artillery men, dental assistants, snipers, cooks and truck drivers. Let us not call them cowards, please. I have seen may great Clint Eastwood films like Unforgiven, Heartbreak Ridge, Flags of our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima and Gran Torino. It is my opinion that he does not encourage people to go to war. I personally do not know ANY brother or sister service member that has served along side me that has seen the devastation of war and has a Pro-war attitude. Within the next 30 minutes following this posting, I will go see American Sniper at the Movie theater. Should I need alter this post, I will do so as needed. However, I somehow anticipate that it will be a compelling human drama that depicts the struggles and transformation of a man that is called on to do a very, very hard job that one does not wish that anyone will ever have to do.
