My son wont be a target or threat for police brutality or death because I will teach my son how to speak properly, how NOT to dress and look like a threat. I will teach my son how to handle irate situations without becoming irate and believing thats the proper act of retaliation. Instead of putting my son in football and sports just to be the star of the town my son will be in substantial programs like boxing or Marital Arts that focuses on maintaining anger and discipline because I know the embedded behaviors of our culture, therefore I will expose my son to other alternatives and ways of being and how to carry himself as a BLACK man in this society. There are solutions people! And these are a few simple solutions. No, we cant control everything that happens and Yes, somethings are completely unfair and should get justice but lets minimize those things by proper development.. when you teach your child to wear baggy clothes and tattoos everywhere, we all know thats an image of a threat (black or white) no matter how you want to dispute it. When we teach our kids to go out and start riots in retaliation we put them on the path to be another victim.. This is just my perspective and the things I know i have to do different as a parent of a black boy to lessen his chances as a victim.
