My sons Dylan, Ryan and I met Jeff Reardon at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY this past weekend. In 1993 he became the all time saves leader surpassing Rollie Fingers with No. 342. He finished his career with 367 saves, now seventh all time. He saved over 40 games three times and threw the final pitch in the 1987 World Series earning the save in the clincher for the Minnesota Twins. Known as "The Terminator" he wrote both his name and nickname on a baseball for my son Ryan. He is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame, but certainly deserves the support of the Veterans Committe when they vote in the future.
