My statement of the events of January the 27th 2014. My friend - TopicsExpress

My statement of the events of January the 27th 2014. My friend Will stopped by my house around 5pm on Monday, 1/27/2014. My husband left for work around the same time. We decided to watch a movie. My son asked for Gatorade. I told him to wait on the couch. He got upset and was screaming. I am guessing that this was when somebody called the police. I gave him his Gatorade and he calmed down but was still crying. I gave him some cookies. We started a movie. It was very loud and there was screaming in the very beginning of the movie. I turned the movie down twice. A few minutes into the movie I heard a knock at the door. I turned to Will and told him that I wasn’t expecting anybody. I proceeded to answer the door. When I opened the door I saw that it was officers. I said hello. The officer told me that they wanted me to step outside. I told them that I needed to call my husband, because I wanted my husband to know what was happening. I have social anxiety and speaking with my husband calms me down. I tried to close the door slightly so cold wouldn’t get in the house. They shoved the door open. The officer grabbed my arm while I was still standing inside. I said “let me go” and he refused. The second officer grabbed my other arm. I again said “let me go, I have to call my husband”. Together they pulled me out of my house. I said “What’s happening?” They tried to set me down on the ground. I fell out of the house onto the ground and hurt my hip. I was still sitting up. One of the officers was standing on my toe. I pulled my toe out from underneath his boot. The officers gripped me even tighter. In defense and fear, I kicked toward one of the officers, hitting only his left pant leg. I remember the evil look he gave me. I was not trying to hurt him on purpose. I was scared and hurting because they were gripping so hard, and terrified because they had just ripped me out of my house. That is when several things happened at once. One of the officers forced me against the wooden post outside of my house, scraping and bruising my face while he was pushing me toward the ground. I think he then used his foot or his hand to push me the rest of the way to the ground. I think I blacked out for a couple of seconds. I lifted my head and my jaw hurt. I remember screaming “This is unnecessary force!!” Another officer twisted my arms behind my back while another officer kicked me to roll me from my side to my stomach, twisting my neck, which is when I started screaming. I turned my head to look inside my house. Two officers knelt down on my back, shoving their knees into my spine. While I was looking in my house, my son was at the door, and so was Will. They forced me to stand up and walked me to the end of the sidewalk and forced me to sit down again by the parking lot. Then I asked them why they were even here. The officer said they got a call saying that I was hitting my son with a belt. The officer started reading me my rights. I started screaming again. I didn’t understand what was going on. An officer grabbed my shoulder roughly and proceeded to yell in my ear that I had kicked his sergeant while I was sobbing. One of the officers helped me stand up because I couldn’t stand up on my own, and put me in back of a squad car. Then I saw my neighbors rushing out to see what was happening. I recognized Noah and Rue. There was another man with Rue whom I did not recognize. I could hear Rue saying that she had gotten home a half hour earlier and that all she could hear was my screaming. She continued to talk to the police officers but I couldn’t understand because I began sobbing again. While I was sobbing an ambulance arrived. A medic came to the side of the car and proceeded to ask me questions. I was trying to tell the medic what happened, when he then told me that he “is not a judge”. I barely remember the rest because I was crying, but I do remember I started to vomit because my hair was in my mouth and I couldn’t breathe because my asthma was acting up. The medic left without giving me any treatment. The officer read me my rights again. He refused to tell me my charge when I asked. He proceeded to read me my rights again. At this point I was mentally and physically exhausted. I was terrified. I could barely put two words together. I said “I’m sorry”. I finally said that I understood my rights. They closed the door to the squad car and one officer drove me out to the Medford jail. Before we entered the jail, I heard the officer say on his CB radio that he was bringing in “one female cooperative.” While I was being booked, they held up a green piece of paper with my supposed charges on it. I read the top line, and it said, “Attempting to assault an officer.” After I was given my paperwork from the judge the next day, it said “Assaulting an officer, Class C Felony”. I am fully coherent and this is written of my own free will. 1/28/2014 11pm
