My storytelling skills will never be able to do this funny situation justice, but here it goes... There is the cutest little 3rd grade special-ed boy in our school and today I was teaching his class. Before class starts the students are usually coming up to me and asking questions and petting me and the boy always comes to say hi. So, he came over to me just as the class leader came over also ( a really sweet girl, very smart and well behaved, really kind...) He turned away as I was trying to say hi to everyone who was crowding around me, and she saw this and moved to say hi to him. Heres where I just cant describe it well enough... I was almost in tears and it only took 2 seconds. My co-teacher completely missed it. She kind of grabbed his shoulders from behind and ducked her head around the front of him to say hi. Well, as she came around, he came forward, and in just that split second their lips were locked! The boy got all surprised and the girl was like AH! and started wiping her mouth, and the boy turned around and looked at me and a grin just blossomed on his cute little face. And then he put his hand up for a high five. I was like, Yeah, buddy! That gets a high five for sure! The girl kind of laughed then, too. BEST day teaching, EVER. Still laughing... will probably be laughing for days.
