My subject is FROM THE PIT TO THE PALACE. If youre a Born Again Believer, there are some pit experiences that are inevitable on your way to the palace. In other words there are some pits you must encounter and endure before youre eligible for the luxury of the palace. The palace symbolizes everything that God has promised you in His Word. It is a place of authority where youre ruling with Christ instead of being ruled over by your circumstances. Josephs pit experience came before his palace experience. There are three ways you can end up in a pit. 1. You fall into a pit by accident. 2. You can see a pit and jump into it. 3. You can be thrown into a pit. Number three describes Josephs situation. The Bible says in Genesis chapter 37 that his brothers hated him and threw him into a pit because of his dreams. Satan is a dream hater, if he can get you into a pit by one of the means mentioned above and keep you there, he knows youll never live the reality of your God-given dreams. Josephs brothers were dream haters. Beware of dream haters, sometimes it is your own family. You cant tell everybody about your dreams because everything is not for everybody. People are not going to be as excited about your dreams as you are. The most important lesson we can learn from Josephs pit experience is that he never allowed the pit to get inside of him. He kept a palace mentality while in the pit. He refused to hate his brothers for what they did and as a result became the Prime Minister of Egypt. In the palace as Prime Minister he was able to save his people the Jews during a time of severe famine. You must have pit experiences on your way to the palace. NEVER ALLOW THE PIT TO GET INSIDE OF YOU AND YOU WILL EVENTUALLY LAND IN THE PALACE.
