My super dupa talented brother..( So proud of you !) Yātrā (Sanskrit: यात्रा, journey, procession), in Hinduism and other Indian religions, generally means sacred pilgrimage. We are all travelers in this world and the experiences we gain help us to develop along the way. Our work illustrates a journey of the heart and of love while the other is a spiritual journey through the chakras. Avind Ganesh Filled with energy and promising talent, Lincoln Avind Ganesh surpasses all expectations of the traditional artist. Hailing from Central Trinidad, this Art Teacher believes that art is the beauty with the ability to heal the wounded soul. Staying true to his Asian heritage, Avind often creates contemporary masterpieces infused with the modern touch suitable for all tastes. Avind’s pieces displayed today represents the spinning wheels of energy in your body’s aura, referred to as Chakras. There are seven chakras namely The Base Chakra; The Sacral Chakra; The Solar Plexus Chakra; The Heart Chakra; The Throat Chakra; The Brow Chakra and the Crown Chakra. When these Chakras are in balance one tends to feel at their peak and when out of balance the free flow of energy is hampered. This is Avind’s debut exhibition. However, prior to today’s showing he has had his pieces exhibited in the Piarco International Airport and the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago alongside several famous local artists in commemoration of Indian Arrival Day 2012 and 2013 respectively. Artist Statement In the ever changing and dynamic world of contemporary art, ideas come and go, some build upon the old while others start a new foundation. There is an ever increasing array of materials and techniques being employed to allow the artist to express his ideology in a visual format. However the resulting connection between art and the audience is where true art takes place.
