My thought for the day. Autism is not a competition. Its not a my child is a better dancer, singer, football player, artist than yours is. Autism is a diagnosis. I DID NOT diagnosis my daughter, a team of experts diagnosed her. I did not choose Autism for her. I find it fascinating that people keep saying but shes so smart. I NEVER EVER said she was dumb, in fact shes incredibly bright.....she teaches me everyday and Im almost 100% positive Ive always said that about her. I do not talk autism everyday because I want people to feel sorry for me. Thats an incredibly stupid statement....why would I want someone to feel sorry for me when God chose me to be Reagans mom. Yes I have days of depression but dont we all so why judge me?? I dont talk autism to make up for not being a perfect mother to my older daughters, that is ridiculous. No I wasnt a perfect mother but you tell me who is and you dont know my truth so dont judge me. I seriously have a hard time believing that people say her autism is mild compared to others. WHY DOES THAT MATTER? What does that mean? Are you saying I shouldnt do all I do because she functions better than some others. Which brings me back to its not a competition, trust me none of the parents I know going around saying my child is more autistic than yours that is absurd. I have said from day one if Reagan were to suddenly wake up and everything clicked at whatever age and she develops the ability to live a completely normal life I would never say ok Im done with autism. I will ALWAYS be dedicated to raising awareness because shes touched my life and yes shes inspired me to be a better person and a better mom but I dont think thats a bad thing. So please, WE ARE ALL FIGHTING BATTLES so be kind. If you think I talk autism too much or you dont think I do what I do for the right reasons then delete me. Because again you dont know my truth and you havent walked in my shoes. This ones for you TOAST moms I love you all so very very much. #1in68 #LIUB
