My thought of the hour (I recently have so many I could post non stop, but this one is really important) A lot of people I know have children that are all younger than mine and most of my non biological kids are starting to have kids of their own so listen up... KNOW who your children are hanging out with. Run background checks, meet their family members, listen to their stories carefully & pay attention if something does not sound right. Let your kids call you crazy & overbearing. Let them say you are nuts for not trusting their friends. Protect them by all means because it will be better than burying them. In this case, Zacharys own Mother also lost her life. The man that did this had fooled an entire congregation for over 2 years!! He worked at a job under an assumed name and received paychecks!! (we still need social security #s for that, where did his come from?) He had everyone thinking he was a mentor for the church he had met Zachary and Diana at. He had nothing but ill intentions from the start. I assure you he sought out this kind of friendship and when threatened with the loss of it, he took their lives & then his own right in my driveway when they were coming here to tell me they thought he may be dangerous. My daughter Skyler was the first person on the scene just seconds after they pulled into our driveway with my daughter Mackenzie to follow a minute later. This is an image I can never take away from my daughters. A tragedy I hope none of you are ever faced with. I never thought this is something that could be at my front door. (literally) I always thought it was just some tragedy you hear on the news. Well, it is. Its just that this time it WAS my family along with Zachary & Dianas... Please be aware and choose to be overbearing over choosing caskets. :(
