My thoughts on Parents who use children as a tool to hurt the other parent. I would never dream of trying to take my children away from their mother. I am saddened however by the parents that are using their innocent and beautiful children as a pawn to punish the other parent. This is a horrible form of abuse that needs to be looked at and cured. When youre a parent going through a divorce, separation or other personal issues with yourself and/or spouse. Grow up and deal with it but dont leverage another parent by preventing him or her from their children unless that parent is abusive towards the child or children. If they are abusive towards the children then yes get the children away but if not, dont try to punish the other party to fulfill your own selfish desires! I am and always will be a firm believer in the statement, a child needs both parents. I will support this cause forever and recently spoke with a group that works to do just that. When God blesses you with child you have not only been given a gift but the responsibilities that come along with it. Dont abuse this gift or responsibility by trying to use the child to hurt the other parent. I am praying tonight for the peace needed in all parents hearts who find themselves at war with one another. Take a step back and remember how much you love your child and how much that child loves both their mother and father.
