My thoughts on Richard Shermans Interview: I completely - TopicsExpress

My thoughts on Richard Shermans Interview: I completely understand how intense and passionate he was. As a defensive back in the NFL, you are put out on an island to defend some of the best athletes in the game. Both WRs and DBs talk a crazy amount of stuff during games. Its part of the position. Both positions have to have a short memory and move on to the next play. Confidence is a huge part of that. Whether its defensively or offensively. I am all for Richard Shermans rant: if it was done on the field of play during the game (which it definitely was even before the interview, slap on the ass & choke sign towards Crabtree & 49ers). He made a great play to help propel his team to the Superbowl. He has every right to be absolutely geeked at that point (turnt up). However, he should have never used a public interview to rant about what he individually did or what another player isnt. Keep that on the field between those themselves (especially when the question wasnt even about Crabtree, it was about describing the last play). Players dont have to like each other thats part of being a competitor. But never a need to bring that public, his play on the field spoke loud enough. Whether you believe Pro Athletes are role models or not, its too big of a venue not to think many of todays youth will think thats ok to do. Look how tough he was and he just treated Crabtree A$$. Just makes me shake my head. How bout you talk about how it was a team effort & great game and you made a play that your paid to make. Also, you didnt intercept the ball your teammate did. So if he didnt, the 49ers have another shot or 2 at winning the game. Like I said I love his confidence and he did back it up with his play. However, stay humble about what you did and paid to do. Football is 11 on 11 not 1 on 1. To many now a days more worried about name on the back of the jersey vs the name on the front! That is all!
