My thoughts on one abiding object for all of us to learn. We need to keep one thought in mind, “Our chief end, our duty is guided by one purpose, before anything else we are to Glorify God”. We need to carry on the truth of the Gospel that burned so deep in our hearts that our souls were churned and we cried out, “Sweet Jesus, I am a sinner, please come into my heart and bring me into Your fold” . Spurgeon stated it this way: “The preaching of Jesus Christ is the burning of sweet odors before the throne of God, and to the Lord it is evermore an acceptable oblation. The sacrifice of Jesus is that which makes the world bearable to a holy God, and the preaching of that sacrifice is a savour of rest unto Him.” This abiding doctrine of the preaching of Jesus is one that can stand the test of Glorifying God. Repentance and faith must be insisted on; the new birth, with its loathing of sin and trust in Jesus, must be ever set before our people.. For this end were we born, and for this purpose were we sent into the world, that we might bear witness to grand soul saving truths, that by the knowledge of these things God can be glorified among men.” “We have an intense desire to build the Church “. (this is the body of all believers, and not just one assembly) “it is of perpetual necessity that we continue to preach always the same Gospel. There must be no departure from fixed principles.” I must agree with Spurgeon on this thought, the truths he spoke about 150 years ago still produce the same result today. It should be our end as Christians to work for the same end, and trust in the same power (that of the Holy Spirit to convict souls), where fore we change not our message, but continue in the truths for the glory and honor of God. As the world grows more dim in tragedies, threats of wars, pandemics, epidemics, quakes, volcanic eruptions, flooding, divisions among people because of race, creed, or color we must ask God for more grace and more strength to stand up for His Glory and Honor . Oh Father in heaven please hear the plea of your children for grace and guidance of Your Holy Spirit to get the message of Jesus Christ, Your Precious Gift to mankind, out to the souls of the lost. May we faithfully bring Honor and Glory to You and the Precious name of Jesus, through the abiding power of Your Holy Spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
