My thoughts on the Kochadaiiyaan Trailer... Tamil : youtube/watch?v=lbJO8MBCyp4 Hindi : youtube/watch?v=86R7d7Ny4LA Keeping aside the merits of the CG work to later, lets first talk about what hopes this film has instilled in me after this trailer. 1. The story - K.S. Ravi Kumar is a safe bet regarding nuances and giving a complete commercially entertaining product. They way he has handled screenplays in his career, is testimony to the above fact. There are sure to be many nuances which point out to previous classics of Rajini. I could see a setup where the famous challenge scene from Annamalai was being repeated! Small instances such as this can definitely make a film work collectively! 2. The music - [ My review here --> bitly/1h2TW0o ] ARR has gone leagues ahead of the times to give a magnificent album that is going to blend even better with animated visuals! The BGM in the trailer was so brilliant, that it almost took foreground when Thalaivar was in the frame! What more do you want?! 3. The dialogues - Each and every dialogue in the trailer had what we expect from a Thalaivar film - magnificence, goosebumps and that sly amount of sarcasm \m/ His voice is resounding... will play to all galleries! Who cares if we are not able to experience him in full flesh?! It is still the same man behind that animated figurine! 4. Triple role - Going to be a triple treat for sure! Clash of the characters and their egos. Vengeance, love, blood, fight, companionship, all brought together by 3 different Thalaivars in 1 film! More than enough to entertain, because there will be 3 different character sketches to follow! 5. No room for questioning logic - This is a fantasy film. And it is animated. So those who are going to ask for logic in the stunts, please stay away! The kids are going to love it, as the over-the-top action blocks have been given the side of fantasy to them with dolphins, magic, swords, etc... 6. The genre - We have always wanted to experience our super star in a full-fledged historical role, and this wish shot upto unimaginable levels after that short stint as Vettayan in Chandramukhi. Well, here we are! 7. The animation? Well, I feel it is quite satisfactory. Deepika is almost perfect, and other elements like the snaring wolves have been brought out well. Nagesh (seen inside of ACD) and Nasser have been brought out very well too. Now all we need to is, support the makers instead of throwing brickbats at them for not meeting upto your expectations of Tintin. I would say this is very good for a start. We are definitely going to improve in the coming years! But I still am not satisfied with the lighting, which could have been much better, as the current visuals look too dark. A bit more of photo realism could have been brought in. But then, by asking this, we might end up asking for a lot more! Wishing the team success, and I am looking forward to making it to the premiere itself on the 10th of April, if PVR has planned for any! B| Going to be summer treat for sure!
