My thoughts tonight: Some years ago I attended a wedding ceremony held in a garden setting. After the minister told the groom to kiss the bride, approximately 150 colorful, helium-filled balloons were released. Within seconds, the balloons were scattered across the sky ~ some rising hundreds of feet overhead while others cruised toward the horizon. I was curious about the distribution. All balloons began from a common launching pad, were filled with approximately the same amount of helium. Never-the-less, in a matter of minutes the were separated by a mile or more. A few balloons struggled to clear the branches of trees, while others kept on going until they were mere pinpoints of color on their journey to the sky. How interesting, I thought ~ and how symbolic of children.
