My top 15 favorite oscar nominated films of the 1990s: #10 Forrest Gump (1994) Directed by Robert Zemeckis Starring: Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Senise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field. Nominated for 13 academy awards and won 6 for visual effects, editing, adapted screenplay, leading actor (Hanks), direction and best picture. Forrest Gump (Hanks), while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments in history, but his true love Jenny (Wright), eludes him. This is a great film, not my choice for best picture that year but Tom Hanks is amazing in this role and the screenplay is also amazing. From being a handicapped boy to running cross America, from meeting Elvis, John Lennon and 4 presidents to becoming a football star, Vietnam var hero and becoming a millionaire while still trying to get his boyhood love Jenny to love him. What does the M4s think of this film?
