My uncle Ron Folsom has had an amazing career as a sublimely talented violinist. My dear cousin Karen Folsom Rymar put it so well when she said he inspired the next generation of talent in our family that I was moved to re-post this link. Stop and listen. Really, it cannot be overstated how his example, at the very least, allowed some of us to pursue creative careers without a shred of self-doubt, and better yet, challenged many to develop their talents very highly. I lucked out to be born into an extended family overflowing with creativity, so that every year, at least one of them finds a new way to take my breath away. What a rich way to live. Thanks for mentioning it, Karen. Besides the incredible legacy of his music itself, I do believe we also have Ron Folsom to thank for this.
