My very first revue of Socks! Dr Clifford Saunders - TopicsExpress

My very first revue of Socks! Dr Clifford Saunders (cybernetrician, physicist, engineer, and artist) did a pre-publication review of Stephen Hawking Smoked My Socks (by Hilton Ratcliffe, Muse Harbor Publishing (MHP), due out in June 2014). Here it is: I have just finished reading Stephen Hawking Smoked My Socks by Hilton Ratcliffe, and, when I have caught my breath, I am going to read it again, this time with a different colo(u)red hi liter. The Engineer cum Technologist in me loved Socks because of Hiltons insistence on our return to a First Principles practice of Science. A return to Measuring before Modelling. The Psychologist in me loved Socks because of the attention Hilton draws to the importance of uncritically accepted belief systems that powerfully shape our perceived realities. If not questioned, our belief systems become pernicious, automated, robotic, default mental schemas, created by the actions of blindingly fast neural subroutines. These invisible subroutines of belief, like the Mushroom on the head of the Ant, inevitably drive the wearer to their hubris marinated demise. The Cybernetician in me loved Socks cos Hilton emphasises the need for the emergence of more intelligent steering and governance amongst the tribes of Eve, Homo Sap dont look so long-term-viable from here, mister. But most of all, the Artist in me LOVES Socks because of the magnificent and breathtaking sweep of his brave and intelligent imagination. South Africas very own Dr. Hilton Ratcliffe shows, in this remarkably entertaining book about the physics of Reality, the inevitable and tragic hubris of Prof. Stephen Hawking and most, most of all, Ratty shows Me my very own place in this Universe, this Folly we call home. Clifford Saunders, PhD.
