My wife and I will soon celebrate 15 years of marriage. 15 years of walking together through life, experiencing each other daily. What if we hadnt gotten married but had only gotten engaged, looking forward to a future date when we would be together? And we spent the time leading up to that day looking at pictures of each other, reading letters from each other, talking about each other (with other people), confessing our love for one another but not consummating it. How sad would that be, not to mention how difficult it would be to maintain passionate faithfulness to each other in the midst of a world that espouses infidelity...honestly I dont know how I could have lived like that. Now consider this, isnt this how some of us in the Church have lived?
