My wonderful Mom Jeanette Main had these custom made for me from Paulas Painted Feathers From Paulas page: This page shows photos of feathers that I hand paint. They are custom made for people who order them, and I try to not do two exactly alike. The feathers are full of meaning, from the animal portrayed on them, to the type of feather, and the color of the beads, everything has a spiritual meaning. They are made with prayer, and smudged when complete. I do not spray the feathers with anything to make them stiff or easier to work on as some feather painters do....these are all natural. They are not treated with any chemicals or sprays, and I paint them by hand with a small brush. I also do not like to cover the whole feather with paint to create a scene, as I think the beauty of the feather should be part of the design.
